• 15 Minutes Of Your Time Unpaid Is HUGE!

  • Another case of overtime back wages caught my attention when it made the news recently. This particular incident involves Citgo’s Corpus Christi, Texas refinery to the tune of almost half a million dollars!

For 4 years federal investigators with the U.S. Labor Department have been looking into Citgo’s wage practices across multiple states after receiving complaints that employees weren’t being paid for time worked.

Investigators discovered that Citgo employees would spend about 15 to 30 minutes after 12 hour shifts briefing co-workers after their shifts ended.  According the U.S. Labor Department, when employees worked more than 40 hours, the unrecorded and unpaid workers spent briefing their replacements resulted in violations of the overtime and record-keeping provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Now Citgo is being forced to pay up! The U.S. Labor Department is ordering Citgo! to pay $460,000 in back pay to more than 200 employees. Those employees represent a quarter of Citgo’s workforce at its Corpus Christi, Texas facility.

The reason this matters to you is because your wages are protected by the federal government.   If you think your employer owes you money and isn’t paying, call me RIGHT AWAY! Call Chad Barr Law for your FREE legal consultation 407-374-1884
