• Another NFL Team Reportedly Settles Wage Dispute with Cheerleaders

    January 14, 2016 | Chad Barr
  • The Ben-Gal cheerleaders have something to cheer about.  That’s because they reached a tentative settlement in October with the Cincinnati Bengals in a federal lawsuit over pay.

The cheerleaders claimed in their suit that they were paid below minimum wage during the 2011-2013 seasons. The team denied any wrongdoing, but started paying the cheerleaders more in 2014.

The court documents show the Bengals agreed to pay the Ben-Gal cheerleaders $255,000.  If the settlement is approved, the cheerleaders could get $2,500 each per season.

Cheerleaders for the Jets and the Buffalo Bills also filed lawsuits.  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers settled a suit this year for more than $800,000 and agreed to pay cheerleaders the minimum wage.
