Guest Smuggles Phone onto Universal’s Velocicoaster
The new VelociCoaster at Universal Studios is possibly one of the best roller coasters in Florida. It’s also one of the fastest. Extreme drops, turns, loops, and twists send riders rocketing over the park.
Because of the intense acrobatics of the ride, the park requires riders to remove everything from their pockets before riding. If something were to fly out into the crowds below that object could be extremely dangerous, and even deadly.
Riders are supposed to secure their personal belongings in a locker and are put through a metal detector before getting in line. Somehow one rider (@heliusjr) was able to get their cell phone onto the coaster and took a video of the ride in action.
Fortunately, they held onto their phone, and no one was hurt this time. If they had lost control, and the phone had gone flying, who knows what injuries could have resulted.
This video proves, that even despite all efforts to keep their guests safe, Orlando theme parks make mistakes that endanger visitors. When avoidable injuries happen in one of Florida’s theme parks, you need the best representation possible.
